Anzac Day Flowers & Wreaths
Anzac Day, April 25, is an important national occasion. It is commemorated by ceremonies and marches across Australia. The laying of flowers at memorials and graves of the departed has been a long standing tradition. An Anzac Day custom is to lay wreaths during the commemorative ceremony. Dawn ceremonies are traditionally held across Australia including Martin Place, Sydney, RSL Clubs, schools, nursing homes, parks and beaches.
The red, purple and white Anzac wreath is handcrafted in our store and a purple satin ribbon with LEST WE FORGET printed in gold is attached to the 45cm wreath.
We find that laurel chaplets, native, red, purple and white wreaths are often laid at commemoration ceremonies, however all colours are suitable eg Clubs and organisations can choose to use flowers in their colours. The wreath is placed at the memorial site by a representative of your organisation. Rosemary sprigs are traditionally worn on Anzac Day
