Anzac Day Sydney, laying of wreaths

Anzac Day, April 25, is an important national occasion. It is commemorated by ceremonies and marches across Australia. The laying of flowers at memorials and graves of the departed has been a long standing tradition. An Anzac Day custom is to lay wreaths during the commemorative ceremony. Dawn ceremonies are traditionally held across the country including Martin Place, Sydney, RSL Clubs, schools, nursing homes, parks and beaches.

Anzac Wreath

The red, purple and white Anzac wreath is handcrafted in our Lane Cove, Sydney store. A purple satin ribbon with LEST WE FORGET printed in gold is attached to the wreath.

Wreaths can be delivered to over 250 Sydney suburbs or picked up from our Lane Cove store.

The image shown is an indication of the style. Flowers may vary due to market availability and seasonality. We will choose similar seasonal blooms to create your design. If you have a specific request regarding flower selection, please note this in the Comments field upon checkout or get in touch with our store. 55-60cm wreath pictured.

We find that laurel chaplets, native, red, purple and white wreaths are often laid at commemoration ceremonies, however all colours are suitable eg Clubs and organisations can choose to use flowers in their colours. The wreath is placed at the memorial site by a representative of your organisation. Rosemary sprigs are traditionally worn on Anzac Day.
